Mark J. Walters has dedicated his legal career to advising and defending insurers.  He advises insurers during claims and represents insurers in all aspects and phases of litigation.

Mr. Walters has successfully tried numerous jury and bench trials to verdict. He has also successfully litigated cases in the New Jersey Appellate Division, the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He frequently designs programs and presents to clients, attorneys, and claims professionals on current issues in claims handling, insurance coverage, insurance bad faith, general litigation, and trial strategy.

Mr. Walters has developed expertise representing insurers in litigation arising from catastrophic losses, including Hurricane Irene and Superstorm Sandy. In 2017, he authored an article titled “The Problems With Harvey,” which explored the practical and legal issues created by Hurricane Harvey. This article was selected as the cover story for Claim Litigation Management Magazine and was distributed to over 35,000 insurance claim professionals nationwide.

In 2012, Mr. Walters was named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Rising Star by Philadelphia Magazine. Only 2.5% of Pennsylvania attorneys who are 40 years of age or younger or have been practicing for less than ten years are selected each year as a Rising Star. Since 2018, Mr. Walters has been named a Super Lawyer by Philadelphia Magazine every year, an honor bestowed upon no more than 5% of practicing attorneys in each state. In 2018 and 2019, Mr. Walters was also named a “Monmouth County Top Lawyer” by Monmouth Health & Life Magazine. The “Top Lawyer” distinction was the result of a peer-review survey of more than 1,800 lawyers who practice in Monmouth County, New Jersey.

Mr. Walters graduated with honors from Villanova University School of Law. He also received the American Bar Association’s Award for Top Student at Villanova in the areas of Land Use Planning Law and Local Government Law.
